Mackersey Construction Ltd is committed to the protection of its employees, its property, our clients, suppliers, subcontractors and the public from accidental injury, death or damage from work carried out by or on behalf of the company.

We adopt health, safety and welfare as a fundamental business objective. With this in mind we are committed to be a leader in the Health and SafetyHawkes Bay for the implementation of safe construction practices throughout our entire business.

We are current members of “Site Safe New Zealand” and have been ACC accredited to a Secondary level. We are ensuring all our staff are fully trained and ticketed at all levels of their current course offerings. Mackersey Construction Ltd is encouraging all our suppliers and subcontractors to join us within the “Site Safe” membership which will ensure our projects remain the safest and therefore the leading major construction operation within the Hawkes Bay. We are the only construction company in Hawkes Bay to have entered into the new "Collaborative Agreement" with Site Safe.

We are proud that our staffing level with first aid experience is a ratio of 1:2.

Mackersey Construction has monthly in house safety meetings attended by a mixture of staff that sit in on our committee and ensure that all current policies are relayed to all outside direct employees along with all suppliers and subcontract labour. These meetings have lead to our “Safety Management Plan” which includes a rigorous system of internal audits that are carried out by our site staff, senior managers and external safety professionals. This “Safety Management Plan” allows analysis of results which lead to immediate corrective action that ensures we continue to improve our safety record and reduce our frequency rate of accidents and lost time.
